Most of us played with Beanie Babies as kids without a second thought. But since their 90s and early 2000s peak, certain rare editions have quietly become serious collector's items. Some of the oldest and rarest are now worth thousands of pounds — and if your parents never threw out your childhood toys, now might be a very good time to go looking.

The Most Valuable Beanie Babies
1. Princess Bear
Made in 1997 in memory of Princess Diana, this is one of the rarest Beanie Babies out there. Listings on eBay have been seen at £500 — and demand from collectors keeps it consistently high.
2. 15-inch Peace Bear and the 9-inch Peace, Ringo and Bones Set
The 15-inch Peace is valuable on its own, but the full set with its 9-inch companions is where the real money is. This set has been listed for around £8,000.
3. Bubbles
Released in 1996, Bubbles is one of the most sought-after Beanie Babies — particularly versions with tag errors. Error-tag editions have been listed at around £1,090 on eBay.
4. Humphrey The Camel
One of the original nine Beanie Babies from 1993, Humphrey was discontinued in 1998. That combination of age and scarcity makes him a reliable collector's favourite.
5. Gobbles The Turkey
The 1997 turkey comes in several varieties, all of which carry value. One Etsy listing has been seen as high as £16,600 — making Gobbles one of the most valuable on this list.
6. Peanut The Elephant
Peanut was made in 1995 in royal blue, light blue, purple, and grey. The royal blue version was a manufacturing error and is now extremely valuable — listings range from £499 to £1,500 depending on whether it's in original packaging.
7. Halo The Bear
A special edition bear from 1998 symbolising a guardian angel. Rare versions with a white printed star (instead of yellow) have been valued at up to $13,500 (around £10,250).
8. Iggy The Iguana
Iggy went through multiple designs, but the version with a tag-printing error is by far the most valuable. An eBay listing for one has been seen at around £60,000 — making it one of the most eye-watering on this list.
9. Valentino Bear
The rarest Valentino bears are those where "Valentino" is misspelled on the tag. These can fetch around £2,000.
10. "Large" Wallace and Friends
The complete set — oversized Wallace, Cashew, Huggy, and two smaller Wallace toys — has been valued at close to a million dollars. Almost certainly the most valuable Beanie Baby set in existence.
11. Hippity, Hoppity and Floppity The Bunnies
Value comes from owning all three as a set. Fortunately, they were originally sold together, so finding the full trio is more likely than tracking them down separately.
12. Patti The Platypus
Another of the original Beanie Babies from 1993. The rare magenta colourway is the one collectors want most.
13. "Large" Ariel and Friends
Made in 2000 as a tribute to a seven-year-old girl who passed away, this set — Ariel alongside Issy and Peanut — is both rare and deeply meaningful to collectors.
14. Snort The Red Bull
Snort was created after Ty faced a copyright dispute over an existing Beanie Baby called Tabasco. The name changed, the toy stayed almost identical — and the value followed. One Etsy listing has been seen at £39,000.
15. Brownie The Bear
An original Beanie Baby with brown fur and, notably, no poem in the tag. Being an original makes Brownie significantly more valuable than later bear editions.
16. Pouch The Kangaroo
Pouch has been listed on eBay for $10,000 — another one worth hunting for in the attic.
17. Holiday Teddy
A limited edition release, meaning very few were made. Scarcity drives value, and this one is consistently sought after by collectors.
18. Nana The Monkey
Made in 1995, Nana was quickly renamed Bongo. If you have an original monkey with the Nana name-tag intact, it's been listed on eBay for around £3,000.
19. Employee The Bear
Only 300 were ever made, gifted to Ty employees in 1995. Half have red ribbons, half have green — all are worth around £2,000–3,000, and none were sold to the public.
20. Jake The Duck
Jake has been listed on eBay for $16,000 (around £12,000). Worth digging out if you think you might have one.
21. Claude The Crab
In mint condition, Claude has appeared on eBay for around £3,500. A popular character that holds value well.
22. Pinchers The Lobster
Tag errors are what make Pinchers valuable. Check the label closely — listings with errors start at approximately £3,700.
Where to Sell Your Beanie Babies
If you've found something worth selling, here are the best options:
eBay — best for rare editions. You can set a fixed price or put it to auction, which can push up the final figure significantly.
Facebook Marketplace — good for bulk selling or common editions. Less ideal for high-value pieces.
Etsy — works well for both rare and well-preserved common Beanie Babies. The collector audience is active there.
